A recent rumor has been circulating on social media, suggesting that the Disney Channel will shut down worldwide in 2025. Although the claim started to spread in late November, it gained significant traction on X when a user @layxsnv posted on December 2, 2024, asserting that the Disney Channel would stop airing for good in January 2025. The post also stated that the channel would end after 27 years of operation.

The user included two images in the post: one featuring Disney Channel's original logo and the other showing rapper Snoop Dogg in tears. The post quickly gained popularity, attracting over 444,300 views within a day.

However, this claim is false, as Disney Channel will not be ceasing its operations globally next year. Multiple reliable sources have confirmed that the channel will continue to broadcast worldwide, with the exception of certain countries such as Spain and France.

The channel will still be available in the United States, and The Walt Disney Company has made no official announcement to suggest otherwise.

The closure of Disney Channel in certain countries is part of Disney's strategy to transition its content to streaming, primarily through Disney+.

The company has already shut down the channel and its sister networks in several countries, including the United Kingdom, Italy, and Australia. Recently, Disney Channel also stopped airing in South Korea and various Southeast Asian nations.

In France and Spain, the Disney Channel will end its broadcast on January 1 and January 7, 2025, respectively, after the expiration of its contract with Canal+, its French partner network. Additionally, Disney Junior will also be discontinued in France, following the closure of Disney XD in the country.
