Do you feel it is unrealistic for actors to prolong their youthful glow indefinitely via cosmetic procedures? If so, actor and screenwriter Yasir Hussain agrees with you. On Monday, the Baandi actor took to Instagram Stories to share a recent quote from Hollywood beauty Cindy Crawford to make his point.

"I'm not 25, so why should I be trying to look 25?" reads the quote attributed to Crawford. "Ageing is what happens if we're lucky. It means that I'm alive."

Taking a dig at Pakistani actors currently reigning in showbiz, Hussain made a mock plea for them to accept their God-given looks and stop pouring money towards unnatural cosmetic procedures. Right above a picture of Crawford proudly displaying her wrinkles, Hussain penned in Roman Urdu, "For all Pakistani actors jinki expressions Allah ko pyari ho gaye aur paisy dr ko", which translates roughly to, "For all Pakistani actors, whose expressions are now dear to God, and money to doctors."

Hussain's meaning is clear, even if his words are tongue-in-cheek. Rather than being caught in the race to always look their best for the camera, Hussain wants actors to make peace with the looks they have been given without resorting to artificial means such as Botox or lip fillers. Both his and Crawford's fans tend to agree.

"He is 100 per cent right, fillers make facial expressions more weird. One should embrace old age," wrote a commenter on social media under a screenshot of Hussain's Story

Others concurred. "Agreed. One should embrace the ageing process with open arms. All you need to do is love yourself the way you are," replied a fan.

Hussain has found himself in hot water with fans and followers in the past due to crass slips of the tongue in public and on social media, such as when he joked about child molesters at an awards show, or made an inappropriate remark against transgender persons in 2019. However in this instance, his words appear to have hit the mark.
