Rapper 2 Chainz expressed frustration after several friends failed to show up at his annual holiday turkey drive, organized by his Tru Foundation. Despite a solid turnout, including his wife, children, and staff from his Esco restaurant, the event, which aimed to give back to those in need before Thanksgiving, left 2 Chainz disheartened by the absence of some individuals he had helped in the past.
In an Instagram Live session, 2 Chainz vented his frustrations, pointing out that while many regularly ask for his help, they didn’t make the effort to support his community event. “People ask me for favors all the time, ask me for money all the time, and y’all can’t even pop up to help me help other people,” he said. Expressing disbelief, he questioned, “What else were you doing?” clearly feeling let down by his friends' absence.
Though 2 Chainz didn’t directly address any specific people, his message was clear. Despite the setbacks, the holiday giveaway met its goal of providing food to families in need. Reflecting on the situation, the rapper emphasized his intention to process the lack of support and take time for himself, hinting at distancing from those who didn’t show up.
