FIA arrests wanted human trafficker at Islamabad Airport

The individual was allegedly involved in human trafficking and visa fraud and was detained upon his arrival from Oman.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration on Sunday successfully apprehended a key suspect involved in a human trafficking case at Islamabad Airport, Express News reported on Sunday.

According to an FIA spokesperson, the arrested individual has been identified as Khawar Shehzad, who was allegedly involved in human trafficking and visa fraud. The suspect was detained upon his arrival at Islamabad Airport from Oman, he said.

The FIA confirmed that Shehzad’s name was on the stop list, and the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Lahore had been looking for him. The case against him was registered in 2023, with accusations that he had received large sums of money under the guise of providing visas, only to then flee the country.

Following his arrest, Shehzad was handed over to the FIA’s Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Lahore for further investigation.
