Police official martyred in Lakki Marwat attack

Three individuals, including a Punjab police officer, were killed in another late-night attack

A police officer was martyred in an armed attack on the Dara Pezu police station in K-P's Lakki Marwat.

According to police reports, intense gunfire between the attackers and police officers lasted for some time, resulting in the death of Constable Karamatullah, Express News reported.

His body was later transferred to the hospital with the assistance of rescue teams.

In a separate incident, late on Friday, three individuals, including a sub-inspector from Punjab Police, were killed in a shooting attack in the nearby area of Paharkhel Paka. The assailants, whose identities remain unknown, opened fire on the victims.

The Chief Minister and Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) condemned the attacks and expressed condolences and sympathies to the families of the deceased.

Last week, a police officer was killed and two other injured in a tragic accident on the motorway near Sheikhupura. According to the motorway police, the accident occurred due to a tyre burst on the Islamabad-Lahore Motorway.

The victims were the part of the squad of Inspector General (IG) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi. However, the IG was not present in the fleet.

Authorities have not yet disclosed the identities of the deceased and the injured officers. An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the accident.

The two injured officers were immediately transported to a nearby hospital where they are currently receiving treatment.
