A man and his daughter, 14-year-old Nabiya, were seriously injured when a dumper truck hit their motorcycle near Nagan Chowrangi on Thursday.
Girl's leg was crushed under the wheels of the truck. The father was going to drop her to school. She is a student of grade nine.
Eyewitnesses gathered at the accident site and helped the injured to be transported to hospital.
They expressed their anger over the incident and demanded of the top officials to take action against speeding vehicles.
They also demanded strict action against unfit and poorly maintained public transport and water tankers in the same way as action is being taken against the vehicles with tinted glasses.
Heavy vehicle drivers violate traffic laws, tramping citizens on the streets, but no action is taken against them.
