KARACHI:

Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan Ameer Engr Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has said that a few influentials have taken Pakistan into their clutches; as a result poor Pakistani people are deprived of their due rights.

The JI supremo expressed these views while addressing thousands of students, appearing in an aptitude test for BanoQabil program. The test was held at Karachi's iconic Nishtar Park, here on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, he told the youth that the corrupt system of governance in the country enabled a minority elite class to rule over it. He said that 90 per cent of the members of legislative assemblies are trillionaires, whereas 98 per cent of people are unable to find a way to prosperity.

He further said that even education has been pushed away from the reach of lower and middle-income groups in the society. Nations don't progress if the education sector is made a business and unfortunately this was the case in Pakistan, he said.

He added that the education budget for the Sindh province is more than Rs481 billion. However, he said, none of the PPP leaders are willing to send their children to any public school for education.

He said that the BanoQabil program has been expanded across the country from Karachi. He added that in the next two years, the free Information Technology courses will be offered to one million young people. He announced that the JI will be offering degree courses as well in the days to come.

JI Karachi Ameer Monem Zafar, Alkhidmat CEO Naveed Ali Baig and others also addressed the participants of the graceful ceremony.
