The family of missing Hawaii woman Hannah Kobayashi is growing increasingly desperate after viewing alarming surveillance footage from more than a week ago.
Kobayashi, 31, was last seen near the Pico Metro station in Los Angeles on November 11, just days after arriving in the city for a connecting flight to New York.
Her family says the new footage, showing her with an unidentified individual, has "kind of solidified the family’s suspicion that something has been awry," according to her aunt, Larie Pidgeon.
The investigation, led by the Los Angeles Police Department, remains active, but family members have criticized the level of urgency in the case.
Kobayashi's sister, Sydni Kobayashi, expressed frustration online, stating, "Police are not taking this as seriously as we would hope because my sister is considered an adult who can make her own choices."
Before her disappearance, Hannah sent troubling texts to friends and family, including claims that she had been tricked into giving away her money.
One message read, "Deep Hackers wiped my identity, stole all of my funds, & have had me on a mind f–k since Friday." Her phone has been off since November 11.
The family has organized rallies and continued their own search efforts in Los Angeles, urging the public and authorities to help.
Kobayashi is described as 5 feet 10 inches tall, with brown hair, brown eyes, fair skin, and freckles. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the LAPD as they hope for a breakthrough in the case.
