Liam Payne will be laid to rest in a private funeral tomorrow in England, attended by close family, friends, and his former One Direction bandmates.
A memorial service for the British singer, who passed away at 31 in Buenos Aires last month, is scheduled at a church in the Home Counties on Wednesday, November 20, according to The Sun.
An insider shared with the outlet that Payne's bandmates Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and Zayn Malik are all expected to be present at the intimate gathering.
“His family have gone to great lengths to put together the perfect service and give him the send off he deserves,” the source disclosed.
“Liam may have been a global superstar but to [parents] Geoff and Karen he will always be their little boy.
“It is going to be an incredibly difficult day.”
Although the exact location of the funeral remains undisclosed, the Home Counties include several regions surrounding London. Payne, however, spent his childhood in Wolverhampton, West Midlands.
It is expected that Payne’s girlfriend, American influencer Kate Cassidy, will attend, along with his former partner Cheryl Tweedy, with whom he shares a 7-year-old son, Bear.
Media reports earlier this week suggested that Payne’s close friend, Rogelio ‘Roger’ Nores, will not attend the funeral.
Nores, an energy mogul, was reportedly among three individuals detained by local authorities following Payne’s fall from a third-floor balcony on October 16.
The businessman was present at the Casa Sur hotel in Buenos Aires in the hours leading up to the singer’s tragic fall.
Nores denied being arrested on abandonment accusations but confirmed he had cooperated with police.
“I never abandoned Liam, I went to his hotel 3 times that day and left 40 minutes before this happened,” he told The Sun.
