The highly anticipated Dune: Prophecy, a prequel to Denis Villeneuve's blockbuster Dune films, has officially premiered on HBO and Max. Set 10,000 years before the birth of Paul Atreides, the six-episode series dives into the creation of the Bene Gesserit sisterhood.

Starring Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, and Mark Strong, the show draws inspiration from the novels Sisterhood of Dune by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson and Frank Herbert’s Dune, which launched the sci-fi saga.

The first episode premiered on November 17, 2024, with subsequent episodes airing weekly at 9 PM ET/PT, leading up to the December 22 finale. Fans without cable can stream Dune: Prophecy on Max starting at $9.99 per month or bundle it with Hulu and Disney+ for $16.99. Amazon Prime subscribers can also access a seven-day free trial of Max for the premiere.
