Sabrina Carpenter faces backlash over sexualized concert choreography: "This is just disgusting"

Sabrina Carpenter's provocative Bed Chem performance at her L.A. concert sparked controversy.

Social media had plenty to say about Sabrina Carpenter's recent concert performances. On Friday, November 15, the singer performed at Los Angeles' Crypto.com Arena as part of her Short n’ Sweet tour. Clips from the event went viral, allegedly showcasing provocative acts during her shows, particularly during the outro of her popular track Bed Chem, accompanied by a bold performance.  

Toward the end of the concert, Carpenter performed her signature Bed Chem routine, lying on a bed on stage as the curtains closed. She was joined by a man, and the audience cheered as the stage displayed shadows of the pair removing clothing and engaging in intimate gestures.  

Although the singer faced criticism for her allegedly sexualized performances, many fans defended her, emphasizing that Carpenter had moved on from her Disney Channel past. 

One X (formerly Twitter) user, @kumingaWRLD, wrote: "She ain’t meant for kids her Disney days are over."  

Similar comments poured in, with several users noting that Carpenter's music is not targeted at children and that it’s not her responsibility if kids attend her shows. 

Some of the reactions included: "Not her fault kids r going to her concerts she ain’t for kids 😭," one X user said.  

"she literally has the most obvious lyrics about sex. if you hear that and still take your kids to her shows, you’re an irresponsible parent," added another netizen.  

"She grown she gonna perform how she like," another user commented.  

"In the words of Billie Eilish, “not my responsibility”," stated another X user.  

However, some critics expressed disappointment with Carpenter’s actions, calling them inappropriate.  

"This is just disgusting. Her fans are 13 and above but shi like this adds to the exposed c**p that they’ve seen especially since it’s someone they look up to," said one X user.

"These generations are....ed up!" another commented.  

"She started of so nice and then it was more and more sexual. Fame really kills artists," added another person.
