Braian Nahuel Paiz, one of the three suspects charged in connection with Liam Payne's death, disclosed details about the singer's alleged secret Instagram account. Paiz, a 24-year-old waiter from Argentina, was investigated as the individual who allegedly provided drugs to Liam.
In an interview with journalist Guillermo Panizza on the Argentinian TV program Telefe Noticias on Saturday, November 9, Paiz recounted meeting Liam twice at the CasaSur Palermo hotel, where the singer fell to his death on October 16.
Paiz recalled that on October 2, Liam, his girlfriend Kate Cassidy, and two unidentified individuals dined at a restaurant in the Puerto Madero neighborhood where he worked.
The 24-year-old claimed: "I've heard people saying he was taking drugs but the truth is that when he got to the restaurant where I was working he was already under the effects of drugs and he didn't actually eat anything."
Paiz alleged that during this visit, Liam Payne approached him and requested his contact information. The waiter gave Liam his Instagram handle, and later, Liam messaged him from his alleged private Instagram account with the intention of obtaining drugs.
Braian Nahuel Paiz claimed the two arranged to meet that same night at the "Hyatt in Palermo."
Paiz described their conversation as "normal" and added: "He came down from his hotel room to fetch me because I had got lost."
During this encounter, Paiz said he and Liam allegedly shared "some whiskey shots," and the singer played him some unreleased music.
Authorities in Buenos Aires raided Braian Nahuel Paiz's residence before he was formally questioned. The 24-year-old was accused of being Liam Payne's drug supplier.
However, during his televised interview in Argentina, Paiz denied these accusations, stating: "I never supplied Liam with drugs."
Paiz mentioned that he saw the singer for a third time on October 13 at the CasaSur hotel. According to his account, Liam Payne allegedly consumed cocaine while Paiz smoked cannabis.
Paiz further stated: "We took drugs together, but I never took drugs to him or accepted any money. I have messages where he’s offering me money because he was apparently used to offering money for everything but I never accepted anything."
