Whoopi Goldberg addresses working-class struggles on ‘The View’: “I work for a living”

Whoopi Goldberg stresses on the fact that she’s “a working person” just like the rest of America.

Ahead of her 69th birthday, Whoopi Goldberg took a moment on The View to emphasize her connection with working-class Americans, stating that she, too, “works for a living.” During a discussion on Tuesday’s show, Goldberg shared that if she were the richest person in the world, she wouldn’t be moderating the popular ABC talk show. Her comments came amid a heated discussion on politics, where she expressed solidarity with those facing financial struggles.

“If I had all the money in the world, I would not be here, okay? So, I'm a working person,” Goldberg told the audience, adding that she understands the challenges of supporting a family. Goldberg has been a cohost on The View since 2007, and her presence on the show reflects a balance between her roles in television and film. Known for her ongoing acting projects, including The Stand and Star Trek: Picard, Goldberg also recently announced the reworking of Sister Act 3 following Maggie Smith's passing.
