Jailer directed to facilitate Imran's meeting
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has directed the Adiala Jail superintendent to facilitate meetings between PTI founder and visitors listed by the former prime minister.
IHC Judge Sardar Ijaz Ishaq Khan issued a written order on a contempt of court plea against the Adiala Jail superintendent for allegedly violating a previous court order regarding PTI leadership's access to Imran Khan.
According to the court's order, the jail superintendent will arrange a meeting between Imran Khan and PTI leadership on Tuesday, and with his family on Thursday. Imran Khan will provide the visitor list to the jail superintendent, who will then forward it to the advocate general and PTI secretary general via WhatsApp.
The Adiala Jail superintendent furnished an undertaking to the court that he would facilitate the PTI founder's meeting with the party leadership.
Meanwhile, the IHC served notice on PTI leader Sher Afzal Marwat over an intra-court appeal against the court's ruling, nullifying the bar on political discussion during the inmates' meetings with visitors.
In an intra-court appeal, Advocate General Islamabad Ayaz Shaukat prayed the court to suspend the ruling of single-judge bench headed by Justice Sardar Ijaz Khan.
