Strahan, standing alongside fellow Fox NFL hosts with hands on their hearts, was briefly shown with his hands clasped in front of him, a gesture that some viewers found disrespectful given the broadcast’s dedication to honoring U.S. military service members.

Social media users took to X (formerly Twitter) to express mixed opinions. One user criticized Strahan’s stance, saying, “What is wrong with Strahan? A blatant disrespect to the men and women around him to protect his rights and freedoms.” Another user added, “Strahan couldn’t put his hand to his heart? HAPPY VETERANS DAY TO ALL BUT MICHAEL STRAHAN!! NO CLASS!!”

In defense of Strahan, other users pointed out his deep respect for the military, referencing his upbringing in a military family. One supporter noted, “Strahan is the son of a retired MAJ! The United States Flag Code states that civilians should “face the flag and stand at attention with their right hand over the heart” during the anthem. Fox’s Veterans Day tribute included a message from Tom Brady, who honored service members, calling them “the best team in the world.”
