The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday clarified that the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) had not issued any notification preventing TV channels from mentioning the name of PTI founder Imran Khan, directing broadcasters to air his name in line with his fundamental rights.
The court was hearing a petition filed by PTI member Akmal Khan Bari, who argued that media outlets were allegedly being barred from mentioning Imran Khan's name under orders from Pemra.
Justice Farooq Haider presided over the hearing.
In response, Pemra submitted a detailed report to the court, asserting that no such notification had been issued.
