The three-day Horse and Cattle Show, a first of its kind in the history of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, concluded with much splendor.
The closing ceremony on the third day at Colonel Sher Khan Stadium in Peshawar was attended by special guests K-P Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Syed Fakhar Jihan and Minister for Public Health Engineering Pakhtunyar Khan.
The cabinet members distributed trophies and cash prizes to the winning participants. They were accompanied by DI Khan Mayor Sardar Umar Amin Khan Gandapur, K-P Sports Secretary Matiullah Khan, Sport Director General Abdul Nasir, Merged Districts Director Raziullah, Operations Director Naematullah, Deputy Director Jamshed Baloch, and other notable personalities.
On the last day of this three-day cultural festival, organised by the K-P Directorate General of Sports, thrilling and exciting tent pegging competitions were held.
In addition to horse and cattle races, the show featured pigeon racing, traditional games, music, art exhibitions, folk dances, a family festival, poetry readings, dog shows, and a vintage car show.
Around 1,000 horses participated in the tent pegging competition during the show, and other traditional games included kabaddi, wrestling, camel racing, camel dancing, dog racing, and 16 more contests.
The Horse and Cattle Show cultural festival at SherKhan Stadium in Peshawar drew large crowds over all three days. The cultural music shows entertained women, children, and young people alike. Artists and bands captivated the audience with their stunning performances, leaving fans delighted.
Various food and display stalls also attracted much attention, and renowned singers added a final touch to the event during a late-night musical show, enhancing the closing moments.
Speaking at the third day ceremony, Syed Fakhar Jihan stated that this Horse and Cattle Show was a major event for the province, organided by the current provincial government.
"The government's aim is to revive traditional and cultural games and festivals, as these are an integral part of our historical identity."
