Rihanna recently hinted that her music career might be over at a public event. In a viral video, the Fenty Beauty founder expressed that the music industry had opened doors for her to discover her true purpose. This comes just months after she clarified she had not retired from music.
On November 8, 2024, X user @gabgonebad shared a brief clip of Rihanna standing at a music booth, where she said she believed "God had other plans" for her. The mother of two shared: “In this industry like, for music. And I would say music got me attention but God had other plans for me and I was able to create in ways that were very sincere and genuine and organic, authentic, to the things that I love, it doesn’t even feel like a job.”
The post had garnered over 20 million views at the time of writing. Many internet users reacted to what seemed like Rihanna suggesting she was leaving her music career behind.
One X user criticized her, saying: "Sounds like she's trying to do damage control before the Diddy list, the Epstein list, and God knows what else is made public. She made her bed, time to sleep in it."
This comment referenced rumors about rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs’ recent arrest on sex crime charges and allegations about Rihanna’s attendance at his controversial parties. However, there is no evidence of Rihanna attending any such events at the time of writing.
Others echoed similar sentiments, with comments like:“Lmao it’s too late. It’s all coming out, honey,” one X user commented.
Another wrote, “The whole industry needs a reality check and I think it’s coming,” while another added, “I feel like a lot of people are going to be coming out and saying they found God recently. A lot more going to say they’ve been victims this whole time.”
Meanwhile, others supported Rihanna, saying that if she was indeed retiring, it was well-deserved.
One user commented, “And that’s perfectly fine,” while a fan added, “In all fairness, Fenty is one of the best celebrity brands out there.” Another remarked, “She tryna tell yall that she not releasing any music baby.”
