Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir has said that the fight against the scourge of terrorism requires the steadfast support of all Pakistanis, along with the efforts of the military and civil institutions, to secure a peaceful and prosperous future for the country.
Terrorism will never be tolerated, he said while reaffirming the nation's resolve and commitment to eradicating the menace. "This mission will be pursued with full national resolve and collective determination," he said in Quetta Garrison where attended the funeral prayers for those who embraced martyrdom in the suicide blast targeting innocent citizens and passengers at Quetta Railway Station, according a statement issued by the ISPR.
Other attendees at the funeral prayers included federal minister of interior, Balochistan's governor and chief minister, provincial cabinet members and a large number of military and civilian officials. After the funeral, the army chief visited the CMH Quetta to meet with the injured of the tragic incident.
Earlier on his arrival, the army chief was received by the Balochistan corps commander.
