Pakistan’s Mohammad Asif, a three-time World Amateur Snooker Champion, was unable to continue his progress in the IBSF Masters World Snooker Championship due to illness and was knocked out in the quarterfinals.
According to reports, the 42-year-old Asif was defeated by Welsh player Philip Williams in the ongoing IBSF Masters World Snooker Championship in Doha, Qatar.
Despite battling a fever, Asif had earlier managed to defeat his opponent in a tough 3-4 victory. However, he was unable to maintain his form in the quarterfinals and lost to Williams, thus ending his run in the tournament.
Asif, who is also a gold medalist at the IBSF World Snooker Championship, had remained undefeated in the group stages, winning all three of his matches with ease.
