The Sachal Police in Karachi have arrested a husband and wife, along with one other suspect, after seizing over Rs10,000,000 worth of ice and heroin.

The drugs were reportedly intended for distribution in various parts of the city.

According to Sachal Police Station House Officer (SHO) Aurangzeb Khattak, the arrested suspects have been identified as Mir Hazaar, his wife Kazbano, and another individual named Safar.

Police recovered 1140 grams of ice and 510 grams of heroin, which are valued at over Rs10,000,000 on the international market.

The suspects were apprehended based on a tip-off at the main road in Gwalior Society, Super Highway, while they were allegedly preparing to distribute the narcotics in different areas of the city.

Earlier this week, the Pakistan Coast Guards seized 1,292 kg of high-quality drugs (hashish) valued at approximately $21.6 million in a major anti-smuggling operation in Balochistan’s Gwadar district.

Acting on intelligence reports, officers carried out the raid in the Kumb area, where they discovered the large cache concealed in bushes, according to the Coast Guards spokesperson.

The operation revealed that the hashish was likely intended for smuggling either within Pakistan or abroad, underscoring the strategic role of Balochistan’s coastline in trafficking routes.

The Coast Guards stated that they remain steadfast in their commitment to curbing drug smuggling activities, which pose a significant threat to national security.

Drug seizures along Pakistan’s coast have increased as the authorities intensify efforts to dismantle trafficking networks.

The Pakistan Coast Guards, with support from intelligence agencies, continue to conduct regular operations to intercept narcotics destined for both local and international markets.
