Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine may face another month in jail due to federal prosecutors’ recommendation that he serve 30 days for violating the terms of his supervised release.
According to documents obtained by TMZ, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York has outlined proposed penalties for Tekashi, who will reportedly admit to the violations in court next week.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office suggests that, following the 30-day jail sentence, Tekashi should serve an additional year of supervised release.
During the initial 90 days, he would be required to spend 30 days under home incarceration, 30 days on home detention, and 30 days with a curfew. After this period, he may travel domestically for work, pending approval from his probation officer, and would also need to undergo random drug testing.
Tekashi was arrested last month for allegedly violating release terms by performing in Las Vegas without probation department permission, testing positive for meth, and failing to complete a drug test.
6ix9ine's attorney, Lance Lazzaro, claims the positive meth test could be a false result, noting that Tekashi is prescribed Adderall. The proposed sentence still requires approval from a judge.
