Annahita Khambatta, an entrepreneur from the Parsi community, known for its appreciation of cars and precision in maintenance, has flagged off AutoSquad, a digital platform to empower local mechanics and enhance the reliability of automobile repair services for owners across the country.
AutoSquad is poised to transform the car maintenance landscape by offering car owners easy access to trusted mechanics, right at their doorstep. In a market long plagued by unreliable service and long wait times, Annahita's innovative solution aims to ensure both convenience and reliability.
"Running a car repair business as a woman in Pakistan comes with a host of challenges," says Annahita, acknowledging the challenges she faces in a male-dominated field. "However, customer loyalty has been incredible. We currently manage five to six clients per day, and I'm confident that number will grow as we expand," added Annahita, who is driven by her deep passion for cars and a vision to revolutionise the auto repair sector.
AutoSquad spares car owners the hassle of visiting mechanic workshops by booking services directly through the platform. Whether it's routine maintenance or more complex repairs, car owners can now easily connect with reliable mechanics.
But AutoSquad isn't just about convenience; it's about rebuilding trust, an element often lacking in the auto repair industry. Every mechanic associated with the platform is carefully selected not only for their technical expertise but also for their professionalism, reliability, and commitment to customer satisfaction. Annahita believes that these attributes are essential for establishing long-lasting customer relationships.
"We wanted to make car maintenance easier and more reliable for owners, ensuring peace of mind with every service," she explained. "Our 'Know Your Mechanic' (KYM) process is a critical part of this effort, helping us screen and select only the most skilled and trustworthy mechanics."
AutoSquad is more than just a mobile mechanic service. It's a high-tech, fully equipped mobile workshop. The platform's service vehicles are outfitted with advanced diagnostic tools and equipment that rival the facilities of high-end garages. Each vehicle is staffed by trained mechanics, supervised by experts who are capable of handling everything from routine servicing to complex repairs, denting, painting, and even engine overhauls.
This level of professionalism and precision is at the heart of Annahita's mission to elevate the quality of car maintenance nationwide. Currently operating with a team of six mechanics in Karachi and Lahore, AutoSquad has chalked out plans to expand its services to Islamabad in the near future.
Annahita is also working to create opportunities for women to enter the male-dominated world of car mechanics. AutoSquad offers training programs designed to equip women with the skills needed to pursue careers in auto repair, opening doors for them in an industry where their presence has been minimal.
"We want to create a network of highly trained, knowledgeable mechanics who can provide car owners with the best possible service," Annahita added. "By empowering women to enter this field, we're not only fostering gender equality but also strengthening the industry as a whole."
Annahita's vision for AutoSquad goes beyond simply offering an alternative to traditional repair shops. It's a mission to reshape Pakistan's entire car maintenance ecosystem, focusing on knowledge-based mechanics, reducing the risk of car damage from poor diagnoses, and building a reputation for professionalism and trustworthiness.
