In a post-election analysis on Fox News, political analyst Juan Williams argued that Kamala Harris’s potential defeat stemmed more from racial dynamics and “white grievance politics” than from economic concerns like “the cost of eggs.” Williams suggested that biases against Harris’s race and gender influenced voter hesitancy, stating, “I’m not sold on this idea that, oh, it was the cost of eggs. I worry that it was, ‘Well, I’m not voting for this woman. Or I’m not voting for this Black woman.’” Williams emphasized that racial tensions and targeted strategies may have played a role in the election outcome, pointing out Trump’s efforts to mobilize white male turnout through specific appeals.

Fox commentator Karl Rove offered a counterpoint, contending that Trump’s appeal to Black male voters was grounded in economic promises rather than racial grievances. “He did not go out and say, vote for me because I’m not a woman,” Rove argued, attributing Trump’s support among minority groups to his focus on prosperity and economic opportunity. “They thought he was a strong, effective leader,” Rove added, citing Trump’s focus on inflation and immigration as resonant concerns.

Williams doubled down on his view, noting that political figures can “exploit those tensions” for electoral gain. He highlighted what he termed Trump’s “bro strategy” for mobilizing white male voters, while Rove insisted voters supported Trump “in spite of” controversial remarks.
