The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) government has decided to initiate legal action against the Islamabad police.

A provincial cabinet meeting, chaired by K-P Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, will take place where the raid on the K-P House in Islamabad will be discussed. The cabinet is expected to approve the legal proceedings against the police action.

In addition to the decision on legal action, the cabinet will also review 18 other agenda points during the meeting.

Earlier the Capital Development Authority (CDA) initiated the sealing of the K-P House in Islamabad, citing violations of building regulations.

Multiple blocks of the facility have already been closed down as part of the enforcement action.

CDA sources indicated that the decision to seal the K-P House was prompted by the administration's failure to comply with building rules.

The CDA had issued several notices to the house’s management regarding the expiry of its lease, with the latest correspondence demanding renewal sent on May 3 of this year. However, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House management took no action.

The sealing was executed by Special Magistrate Sardar Muhammad Asif, who was accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Abdullah and a CDA team during the operation.

CM Gandapur's valuables 'go missing' from K-P House in Islamabad

Earlier, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur's valuables, including two iPhone 15 Pro Max devices, personal documents, a wallet, and a licensed firearm, were reported missing from the KPK House in Islamabad during the D-Chowk protests.

The loss of his mobile phones, which contained crucial contacts, has disrupted his communications. Gandapur expressed concern to assembly members and sought help in retrieving the contacts. Islamabad’s Inspector General of Police is investigating the incident.
