Actress Salma Hayek recently revealed details about her financial arrangements with her husband, Kering CEO François-Henri Pinault, in an interview with The Wall Street Journal.

The couple, who married in 2009, did not sign a prenuptial agreement, and Hayek has maintained separate finances throughout their marriage. Known for her roles in films and her philanthropic endeavors, Hayek shared that she often feels motivated to grow her own wealth independently of her billionaire husband.

“I support a lot of the aspects of my life and myself,” Hayek stated, adding, “I have the pressure to make a certain amount of money, and I like it. And now, I decided, I want to make more.” Despite Pinault’s net worth of approximately $21.8 billion, Hayek emphasized her desire to establish her own financial success. With their daughter Valentina nearing adulthood, the actress noted she’s exploring business ventures, though specifics remain under wraps. She added that Pinault is supportive of her ambitions, saying, “I think he finds it kind of sexy.”

In addition to acting, Hayek has been actively involved in philanthropy, dedicating considerable time to the Kering Foundation, which focuses on fighting gender-based violence. Recently, she played a key role in organizing its annual New York fundraising dinner, an event that raised nearly $3 million.

Although Hayek came from a wealthy background, she experienced financial struggles in her early career after her family lost their fortune. Her marriage to Pinault shifted public perceptions, leading many to focus on her wealth. “The excitement about having a lot of money was that I didn’t have to think about money,” she said, though she acknowledged it drew attention from strangers who saw her as part of an exclusive social circle.
