Fans have criticized Kim Kardashian for wearing Princess Diana's iconic cross necklace, labeling the fashion choice as "vulgar." The 44-year-old reality star wore the symbolic piece at the 2024 LACMA Art + Film Gala in Los Angeles on Saturday.

She paired the antique amethyst necklace, famously worn by the late princess at a 1987 charity event, with a plunging white gown that highlighted her cleavage, along with other bold jewelry.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians alum acquired the Attallah Cross at a Sotheby’s auction in 2023 for just under $200,000, wearing it publicly for the first time at this event.

Critics were quick to describe the mother of four as "sleazy" and "tone deaf" for her choice of outfit.

"She turned it into something vulgar," a user posted on X.

"She had the audacity to put it on with this dress. Purely tone deaf, uneducated narcissistic unattractive brain," another user commented.

The multi-media star added an ivory coat to her outfit, styled off-the-shoulder for the event.

Kardashian completed her look with a sleek bob parted to the left, winged eyeliner, brown eyeshadow, and a nude lip.

The necklace, named after its former owner Naim Attallah, a Palestinian-British businessman, was often loaned to Diana in the 1980s.

Diana, Princess of Wales, was photographed wearing the pendant on a pearl strand at the 1987 Birthright charity gala, paired with a purple velvet Catherine Walker gown.

Originally crafted by Garrard in the 1920s, the Attallah Cross features square-cut amethysts surrounded by 5.25 carats of circular-cut diamonds.

Diana’s similar pearl choker, containing 900 pearls, was worn at various events, including film and theater premieres.
