RAWALPINDI:

The Rawat police recovered two children and presented them in court on Friday after a strict order from a judge to file a case against the investigation team, including the Station House Officer (SHO), for failing to produce abducted children as ordered by the court.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Waseem Anjum withdrew the arrest order after Rawat SHO Zahid Zahoor, Investigation Officer SI Faizan and ASI Muhammad Ashfaq appeared in court with the children.

The judge praised the police for their excellent work, stating that it was essential to adhere to court orders as courts made decisions and issued orders under the Constitution and the law. The court handed over the two children to their mother.

The victim, Bibi Abida Hussain Kulsoom filed a petition against her husband Syed Shahab Hussain, his parents, the Rawat SHO and the local police.

In an application filed under Article 491, Shahzeb Advocate stated that Abida married Shahab on May 9, 2021. The couple had two children Syed Almas Haider and Syed Multamis Haider.

However, on October 5 of this year, Shehzeb whisked away both children from her. When she reached out to request the return of the children, she was informed that they were in Bahria Town, Rawalpindi. Upon visiting her in-laws to take back the children, her in-laws called the police, who advised the mother to seek a court order.

The petitioner argued that her children's well-being and future were at risk without her care. In response, the court issued orders for the recovery of the children at various times, but these orders were disregarded.

Therefore, the court declared that the Rawat SHO Zahid Zahoor, Outpost In-charge SI Faizan and ASI Ashfaq had ignored the court's orders and displayed a lack of responsibility by neglecting their professional duties. Thus, the court mandated that a case be registered against these officers under Section 155C of the Police Order. However, the two children were eventually recovered, following the court's directive.
