Former talk show host Montel Williams responded firmly to recent rumors involving him and Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris.
Just days before the election, right-wing influencer Matt Wallace took to X, formerly Twitter, to claim that a supposed sex tape featuring Harris and Williams was being “shopped around” and could “break the internet.”
Wallace speculated that the alleged tape might harm Harris’s campaign in its final days, posting, “Wow, I was just informed by my friend, who is the CEO of a large tech company, that there is allegedly a sex tape being shopped around involving Kamala Harris and Montel Williams... This could seriously damage the Harris campaign with just 8 days until the election.”
The rumor quickly gained attention online, sparking widespread discussion. Williams, 68, directly countered Wallace’s claims with a pointed response on social media. “Wow, I hear a blogger I’ve never heard of got millions of views claiming someone is ‘shopping’ a sex tape of me that will ‘break the internet,’” he posted.
Williams continued, “Let’s ‘break the internet’ w/ truth – there is no tape. Kamala Harris’s surge clearly has some people worried.”
Harris and Williams, who briefly dated in the early 2000s, have previously faced similar speculation. In 2019, Williams addressed media attention on their relationship, posting, “@KamalaHarris and I briefly dated about 20 years ago when we were both single. So what?”
