Singer-songwriter Gracie Abrams took the stage at a rally in Madison, Wisconsin, on October 30 to express her enthusiastic support for Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign. Speaking to an energetic crowd at the Alliant Energy Center, Abrams urged young voters to protect democratic values, emphasizing the critical importance of their role in the upcoming 2024 election.

Abrams, whose recent album The Secret of Us topped the Top Album Sales chart, expressed heartfelt admiration for Harris, calling her an “amazing, compassionate, and brilliant” leader and the right choice to guide the nation through challenging times. In her address, Abrams emphasized the challenges her generation faces, from disinformation to political disillusionment, encouraging the crowd to vote Harris/Walz to preserve the opportunity to make a positive impact.

Following her speech, Abrams performed two of her hit songs, “I Love You, I’m Sorry” and “Free Now,” to enthusiastic applause. Both tracks are from her latest album, which has resonated strongly with fans and recently broke into the Billboard Hot 100. In addition to Abrams, the rally featured British folk-rock band Mumford & Sons, who performed some of their top songs, including “Little Lion Man” and “I Will Wait,” with lead vocalist Marcus Mumford voicing his support for Harris. The evening also saw performances by genre-blending artist Remi Wolf, who spoke about her desire for America to feel “safe, accepted, and free.” Wolf emphasized Harris’s commitment to issues like reproductive rights and climate action, which are especially significant to younger voters.

Further strengthening the evening’s message, Aaron Dessner and Matt Berninger from The National dedicated their song “I Need a Girl” to Harris, expressing their faith in her vision for the country. Their performance, along with Abrams and Mumford & Sons, underscored the rally’s call for unity, compassion, and action. In a night focused on fostering hope, the artists’ endorsements underscored Harris’s dedication to leading a progressive America.
