Dog bite victim drags local govt to court
The court of District and Sessions Judge Tando Allahyar, Qazi Shah Muhammad Azhar ordered to register a case against Tando Allahyar Chief Municipal Officer (CMO) Abid Wali Khoso, in an incident of dog biting a citizen.
The dog bite victim, Lateef Ullah, a resident of Partab Para had filed an application through Advocates Nadir Ahmed Kalro and Muzaffar Ali Mehr in the court for the registration of a case.
Lateef stated in his application that he was passing near Mono Technical College Tando Allahyar on October 6, with his friend, Muzammil Sohail, when a stray dog attacked him and bit his leg.
He said that the Sindh High Court (SHC) Sukkur Bench, in its judgments, has already ruled to register a cases against the municipal officer concerned in dog bite incidents.
The petitioner said that based on the ruling he submitted an application to the B-Section Police to register a case against Chief Municipal Officer Abid Wali Khoso, but the police turned him away.
The petitioner requested the court to order the B-Section Police to register a case against the nominated accused, the Chief Municipal Officer.
The court, while pronouncing its decision, has ordered the police to register a case and take action according to the law.
