A recent fan event in New York City spotlighted Timothée Chalamet and his look-alikes, gathering fans who celebrated their resemblance to the actor at a Timothée Chalamet lookalike competition. Organized by YouTube personality Anthony Po, the event reportedly drew a large crowd, with many attendees dressing as Chalamet's well-known characters, including Paul Atreides and Willy Wonka.

As the event grew in popularity, police intervened due to the unexpected crowd size. Contrary to online rumors, Chalamet himself was not arrested. According to ABC News on October 28, 2024, a contestant from the competition was taken into custody.

The police presence created confusion, leading to speculation that Chalamet had been detained, which was incorrect. Officers reportedly instructed the crowd to disperse, citing a lack of permits.

Chalamet made an unplanned appearance at the lookalike competition in New York City, drawing in a large audience of fans and admirers eager to see him and his look-alikes.

The event, hosted by YouTube star Anthony Po, invited participants to dress as Chalamet's iconic characters, with a cash prize for the winner. Fans gathered at Washington Square Park, many dressed as characters from Chalamet's films.

As crowd numbers grew, the event drew attention from authorities. Police arrived and issued an order to disperse, citing the absence of a required permit. Organizers were fined $500, and amid the commotion, "at least one contestant" was detained, though the reason remains unclear, per ABC News.

Despite this, Chalamet, protected by his bodyguards, interacted with fans and took photos at the competition. The gathering reportedly moved to a nearby playground, where the contest continued.

Participants answered questions on various subjects, from Chalamet’s rumored relationship with Kylie Jenner to their skills in French. Miles Mitchell, a 21-year-old college student from Staten Island dressed as Willy Wonka, won the competition and received the $50 prize.

Following the success of the Timothée Chalamet lookalike competition, fans are eagerly anticipating a Jeremy Allen White lookalike contest on November 17, 2024, at 1 PM under the Washington Square Park Arch in New York City.
