In a recent interview with DJ Vlad, music executive and rapper Wack 100 discussed the arrest of Durk Devontay Banks, also known as Lil Durk, and the fact that an OTF member allegedly informed on him. The Chicago rapper was detained on murder-for-hire charges on Thursday, a day after five members of his label, Only The Family, faced similar charges and were also arrested.
The arrests are reportedly linked to a federal criminal complaint, which was recently unsealed, regarding an attempted murder targeting rapper Quando Rondo in 2022. At the time, suspected assailants shot at Quando near a gas station by the Beverly Centre while he was accompanied by his sister and cousin. Although Quando and his sister were unharmed, their cousin Lul Pab sustained fatal injuries that eventually claimed his life.
The indictment detailed that OTF credit cards were allegedly used to book flights and cover rental car expenses before the murder attempt.
On DJ Vlad’s show, when the host brought up OTF member Jam, who reportedly acted as an FBI informant over the past two years, Wack 100 commented: "He did 12 years, got out, interviewed, said he kept it real, brought him cars, gave him 50,000…made mention that ain’t no smudge on his name, he ain’t never been a rat, caught a gun case, but eventually he flipped."
DJ Vlad added that Jam served a 12-year prison sentence for attempted murder, supposedly from 2010. He was released in 2022, coinciding with the time of Lul Pab’s murder. Since then, Jam has allegedly been wearing a recording device to collect information on Lil Durk and OTF, ultimately leading to the recent arrests.
Wack 100 and DJ Vlad discussed how the sequence of events suggested that Jam began cooperating with the FBI shortly after his release from prison.
In the indictment, prosecutors described Banks’ label, OTF, as a "hybrid organization," alleging that it operated as a gang engaged in criminal activities while presenting itself as part of the rap community. The complaint also accused Banks of being the orchestrator behind the violent actions carried out by OTF members.
