Renowned actress Vidya Balan, who immortalised the character of Manjulika in the original Bhool Bhulaiyaa, has discussed her decision to not participate in the film's sequel during a recent media event.
According to Indian media reports, Balan shared that the original Bhool Bhulaiyaa proved to be a lucky charm for her, leading to numerous successes that she had never anticipated.
The actress mentioned that producer Bhushan Kumar had approached her with the script for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, which she found appealing. However, Balan expressed concern, saying, "The first film was released in 2007, and I became fearful that I might not do justice to the character after such a long gap." This apprehension led her to decline the offer.
After the trailer for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 was released, Balan revealed that she was impressed and subsequently agreed to star in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.
She added that upon learning that Madhuri Dixit would also be part of the third installment, she felt there was no reason to turn down the film.
It is noteworthy that both Vidya Balan and Madhuri Dixit will reprise their roles as Manjulika in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, while Karthik Aryan, the hero of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, will be seen in a competitive role alongside Manjulika in the third part.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is set to release on November 1, coinciding with the Diwali festivities.
Moreover, Vidya Balan has playfully threatened her fans to ensure they watch the horror-comedy film "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3".
Vidya Balan played the role of Manjulika in "Bhool Bhulaiyaa," which still resonates in the minds of moviegoers today. Referring to her character, Vidya urged her fans to "make sure you arrive at the cinema on November 1, or Manjulika won't let you go."
After 17 years, Vidya Balan is making a comeback to the "Bhool Bhulaiyaa" franchise, where she will share the screen with actors Kartik Aaryan and Tabu in the third sequel.
During the trailer launch of "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3" on October 9, she expressed her happiness about returning to the franchise, thanking producer Bhushan Kumar for including her in the film. "I'm extremely happy to return after 17 years," she said.
The actress mentioned that during these 17 years, "Bhool Bhulaiyaa" has given her a lot of love, and she hopes that the third sequel will continue to do so for the next 17 years.
