PM Shehbaz urges nation to donate to PM's relief fund for Gaza, Lebanon

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has urged the nation, particularly the affluent, to contribute to the Prime Minister’s relief fund for Gaza and Lebanon as humanitarian aid is dispatched to the regions.

Chairing a review meeting on Pakistan's aid efforts for Gaza and Beirut, he instructed the dispatch of two planes loaded with aid and called for additional goods to be sent via land routes.

The Prime Minister also directed Pakistani ambassadors in Palestine, Lebanon, Jordan, and Egypt to enhance the distribution of aid and ensure it reaches deserving recipients.

Prime Minister Shehbaz called on the media to raise awareness about the relief fund, urging the nation to step forward in support of those affected by Israeli aggression.

The meeting revealed that Pakistan is sending tents, clothes, blankets, medicine, food, and drinking water to the affected areas. However, Israeli attacks and blockades have made it challenging to deliver aid.

The Prime Minister assured NGOs wishing to send relief goods that the Government of Pakistan will facilitate the delivery of aid to victims in Gaza and Lebanon.

NDMA continues aid deliveries to Gaza and Lebanon

Last week, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) dispatched its second humanitarian aid consignment to the war-affected areas of Gaza and Lebanon.

On Thursday, a 100-ton shipment of essential supplies left Karachi for Beirut, Lebanon, following directives from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

The relief package, coordinated with the Al-Khidmat Foundation, includes vital items such as medicines, ready-to-eat meat, tents, tarpaulins, winter clothing, warm bedding, and powdered milk, aimed at supporting those impacted by the ongoing conflict.

This marks the twelfth aid shipment from Pakistan to Gaza and Lebanon, with 10 earlier consignments specifically sent to Palestine.

Second batch of Palestinian students arrives in Islamabad

Previously a group of 64 Palestinian medical and dental students from Gaza arrived safely in Islamabad to continue their education at Pakistani institutions.

This is the second batch of students to arrive in Pakistan as part of a program supported by several organizations, including Doctors of Rehman, Global Relief Trust, and Al-Khidmat Foundation.

The initiative was announced in July by Pakistan's foreign ministry, offering scholarships to over 100 Palestinian students through the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC).

The goal is to provide these students with an opportunity to pursue their studies despite the challenges posed by Israel's ongoing war in the Middle East.
