Harvey Weinstein has been diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia as he faces ongoing legal proceedings.

Harvey Weinstein, the disgraced former movie producer, has been diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia, a form of bone marrow cancer, according to NBC News.

The diagnosis comes as Weinstein continues to battle multiple legal cases, including a retrial on rape charges after his 2020 conviction was overturned. His spokesperson, Juda Engelmayer, expressed concern over the public discussion of Weinstein’s health, stating, “It is both troubling and unacceptable that such private matters have become a subject of public discourse.”

Weinstein, who has faced numerous health issues in recent years, was hospitalized earlier this year for heart surgery and has struggled with other conditions such as diabetes, COVID-19, and pneumonia. His retrial, initially scheduled for November 2024, is now expected to take place in early 2025. Despite the mounting legal battles, Weinstein continues to deny all accusations of sexual assault and rape.

Weinstein's conviction was overturned by the New York Court of Appeals in April, citing that additional testimonies from accusers not directly involved in the charges prejudiced the original trial.
