KARACHI:

Police claimed on Friday that they have eliminated two muggers involved in the killing of a police constable in the Iqbal Market area of Orangi Town a day earlier. The slain muggers, identified as Najibullah and Faheem, turned out to be Afghan nationals, according to police.

District West SSP said, 'Iqbal Market police surrounded a location and as soon as the muggers saw the police, they tried to escape while firing at them. The police returned the fire sparking a gunfight in which both the robbers were severely injured and later succumbed to their injuries." SSP claimed the muggers were involved in the killing of Constable Abdul Ghaffar, who was fatally shot while foiling an attempted robbery on Thursday.
