GHQ attack case: Hearing delayed after Adiala authorities block judge's entry

The indictment of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and 79 others in the GHQ attack case has been delayed, after Adiala jail officials prevented the judge from holding the scheduled hearing inside the prison.

Special anti-terrorism court judge Amjad Ali Shah was set to preside over the proceedings at Adiala jail, Express News reported.

However, jail authorities barred him from entering, citing that no hearings could take place that day. In a letter to the judge, the jail superintendent explained the situation, leading to the postponement of the hearing until 30 October.

The delay also halted the provision of charge-sheet copies to the defendants, including Imran Khan, who faces charges related to the 9 May protests, where the GHQ (General Headquarters) was attacked.

This case has been separated from the other 13 cases linked to the 9 May incidents, which are scheduled for hearing on November 4.
