WAH CANTT:

Awam Pakistan Party convener Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said the rulers have sacrificed the future of the country for the sake of their own power.

Addressing the party's rally in Wah Cantt, the former premier said the rulers want to introduce amendments to the constitution in the darkness of night which are designed to strengthen their rule. The judges have allowed the parliamentarians to vote against the party line.

Those who did not deserve it have entered parliament, said Abbasi, adding many Senators reached the upper house by making huge donations to political parties. He highlighted such MPs are not concerned about the proposed amendment.

He said elections have been rigged since 1985, asking how the country can progress under such circumstances. Imran Khan came to power with the support of the establishment and left power in the same way, asserted Abbasi. He pointed out that Pakistan's circumstances were critical and extra-ordinary decisions will have to be taken to deal with the situation but the incumbent government does not have the capacity to undertake this job.
