The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has dispatched the second consignment of humanitarian aid to war-affected regions in Gaza and Lebanon.

The aid shipment, consisting of 100 tons of supplies, was sent from Karachi to Beirut, Lebanon, on Thursday, on the directives of Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

This relief effort, conducted in collaboration with Al-Khidmat Foundation, includes essential supplies such as medicines, ready-to-eat meat, tents, tarpaulins, winter clothing, warm bedding, and powdered milk.

The aid was flown from Jinnah International Airport, where a sendoff ceremony was held with representatives from NDMA, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Al-Khidmat Foundation, and local officials in attendance.

During the ceremony, attendees highlighted the urgent need for humanitarian support amid the ongoing conflict in Palestine and Lebanon.

They reaffirmed the Government of Pakistan’s commitment to assisting war-affected populations and urged continued collaboration from welfare organisations and the public.

This is the twelfth aid shipment from Pakistan to Gaza and Lebanon, with 10 earlier shipments sent to Palestine. Pakistan’s relief efforts continue to be guided by the needs of these conflict-ridden areas.

Earlier this month, Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal announced the creation of the "Prime Minister's Relief Fund for Gaza and Lebanon" to encourage public donations. The fund aims to enhance support for those affected by the ongoing violence in the region.

Second batch of Palestinian students arrives in Islamabad

A group of 64 Palestinian medical and dental students from Gaza arrived safely in Islamabad on Tuesday morning to continue their education at Pakistani institutions.

This is the second batch of students to arrive in Pakistan as part of a program supported by several organizations, including Doctors of Rehman, Global Relief Trust, and Al-Khidmat Foundation.

The initiative was announced in July by Pakistan's foreign ministry, offering scholarships to over 100 Palestinian students through the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC).

The goal is to provide these students with an opportunity to pursue their studies despite the challenges posed by Israel's ongoing war in the Middle East.
