Indian cricket legend Virat Kohli has added another achievement to his name by becoming the second most capped player in India's cricket history.
Kohli overtook former captain MS Dhoni, making his 536th international appearance during the first Test against New Zealand. Dhoni, who played 535 matches for India between 2004 and 2019, now sits in third place.
The only player ahead of Kohli in terms of international caps is the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, who played a record-breaking 664 matches across all formats from 1989 to 2013.
Kohli, who has already represented India in 115 Test matches, has scored 8,947 runs, including 29 centuries and 30 half-centuries.
Close behind Kohli are current Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, with 486 matches, and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, with 346 appearances.
If India manages to sweep the three-Test series against New Zealand, they will only need to win one match in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar series against Australia to secure their place in the WTC final.
