A young tailor, who was wounded in a gang-related shooting in Karachi’s Korangi area, has died during treatment.
The victim, identified as Mohammad Junaid, passed away at a local hospital after being hit by a stray bullet during an armed clash between two groups on Sunday.
Junaid, who had no political or religious affiliations, was on his way home after closing his shop when he was struck by a bullet near his home in the Awami Colony area.
According to local councillor Iftikhar, the incident occurred as tensions flared in the neighbourhood, leading to an exchange of gunfire.
Junaid was hospitalised for two days in critical condition but succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday morning.
His funeral prayers were held near Allah Wali Mosque, and he was laid to rest at Bagh Korangi cemetery.
The Korangi district police confirmed the arrest of eight individuals allegedly involved in the shootout. Investigations are ongoing as authorities work to identify the source of the fatal shot.
