After hinting at a collaboration with Bollywood rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh back in April, film and television star Mehwish Hayat delighted fans by sharing a clip on Friday of the singer serenading her with Punjabi rap.

In the candid reel, Honey Singh, oozing the very essence of 'bling' in a faux-fur coat, sits close to a delighted Mehwish clad in a camel-coloured blazer and pearls. Throughout the clip, the Daghabaaz Dil actor cannot help but smile as Honey Singh spins out his rap.

"Karampura Karachi connection baby, something exclusive with one and only Mehwish Hayat!" wrote Honey Singh, who had been tagged in the post. In just over a day, the short video has skyrocketed to over 500,000 likes, a testament to the star power of both celebrities.

"Finally a dream come true!" wrote one fan, as another penned, "Excited for this and really happy for you!"

Honey Singh has become a household name in Indian hip-hop circles, having churned out the Bollywood hits Lungi Dance, Party All Night, and Yaar Na Mile. The mutual admiration between the two artists has been evident on both of their social media handles stretching back a few years.

In April this year, Mehwish ignited a wave of frenzy in her fans and followers by dropping the news that her "amazing" track with Honey Singh had been recorded. In the video she had shared at the time, Mehwish had exuded warmth and appreciation for the Indian musician, labelling him a "genius."

"Basically, we had been having discussions about collaborating for a while now, and it has finally happened," said Mehwish at the time. "We have recorded it in the studio, and it's a fun song, very amazing."

Cresting on a high working with her "favourite desi kalakaar", Mehwish had nothing but words of praise for the rapper. "It was a wonderful experience collaborating with him," she gushed at the time. "He's a genius. I've heard his other songs, and each song is insanely amazing."

Back in 2019, the rapper had wished Mehwish a happy birthday on her Instagram handle, describing her as a "great singer and actor". Meanwhile, in 2022, when a fan asked if she would ever collaborate with the Indian artist, Mehwish promptly passed the buck onto the man himself. With the duo showing signs of joining forces, fans are sure to be left clamouring for more.
