Comedian and actress Miranda Hart revealed how Selena Gomez inspired her to open up about her own health struggles with Lyme disease. During a heartfelt appearance on The Graham Norton Show, Hart credited Gomez’s bravery in sharing her battle with lupus and mental health challenges, which gave her the "courage to be vulnerable."

Hart explained how watching Gomez’s documentary, My Mind & Me, pushed her to reveal her diagnosis through her memoir, I Haven't Been Entirely Honest with You. Hart, 51, was diagnosed with Lyme disease during the pandemic, an isolating experience that she now wants to share publicly to help others.

“I had my diagnosis during the pandemic, and it was a very lonely time,” Hart said. “I decided I didn't want to be alone anymore, so I put out this little prayer with about one percent of hope, but I met someone and got married in July.” The Spy star recently celebrated her marriage after a difficult health journey.

Selena Gomez has been vocal about her struggles with lupus and mental health, detailing her challenges with bipolar disorder and psychosis in her documentary. Gomez has been candid about how her health battles led to suicidal thoughts, and her openness has inspired others, including Hart, to speak about their experiences.

By sharing their stories, both Hart and Gomez aim to break the stigma around chronic illness and mental health, providing support and inspiration for others going through similar journeys.
