A soldier laid down his life while security forces thwarted an attack on a Frontier Corps (FC) post, killing two terrorists in the Zhob district of Balochistan on Wednesday, the ISPR said in a statement.
The ISPR, the media wing of the military, also said in a separate statement that two terrorists were killed in an IBO in the Mir Ali area of the North Waziristan district of K-P.
The statement said that the two terrorists killed in Zhob included a high-value target (HVT), adding that the assault on the FC post was repulsed before the attackers could inflict any damage. The attack took place in the early hours of Wednesday, the media wing of the military said.
"The attempt to enter the camp was effectively thwarted by the security forces personnel and, resultantly, two terrorists, including a suicide bomber and an HVT Terrorist Umar alias Umari, were sent to hell, before they could cause the intended damage," read the ISPR statement.
"Terrorist Umar alias Umari was involved in numerous terrorist activities against security forces as well as innocent civilians, including recent attack on convoy of Deputy Commissioner, Sherani," the statement added.
During intense exchange of fire, however, Havildar Jamsher Khan, 39, a resident of Dera Bugti district, having fought gallantly, paid the ultimate sacrifice and embraced Shahadat. "Sanitisation operation is being conducted to neutralise any other terrorist present in the area," the ISPR said.
