Shortly after one of the showbiz industry's most beloved couples, actors Aagha Ali and Hina Altaf, tied the knot in 2020, the rumour mill had been abuzz with whispers of their separation. In a recent appearance on Ahmad Ali Butt's podcast, Aagha himself took the bull by the horns and confirmed that he and Hina had indeed divorced. However, the actor was careful to illustrate that the breakdown of their marriage had been as amicable and respectful as was possible under the circumstances.

"I am doing pretty good now, actually, and I'm very happy to say this," admitted the Band Baja Aur Bajiya actor when asked about whether he was "happily divorced." Without giving any details away as to how and why the split had transpired, he philosophically, added, "Life's tough! What else can you say?"

Until now, both actors have kept the status of their relationship heavily under wraps, conducting their divorce far from the prying eyes of social media. Whilst the breakdown of any marriage renders a web of emotional scars in its wake, Aagha remarked that the split was devoid of any hostility by either party.

"Any relationship that has been forged on the basis of happiness needs a lot of work," he pointed out. "You have to try very hard and pray hard at the same time. But if you fail at both, then the only way out is to do it respectfully."

Aagha expressed gratitude that the painful process of divorce had been as smooth as possible for the former couple. "After the complete breakdown of a relationship, you often have nothing left other than intense hatred for one another" he remarked. "The best thing that has come out of this is that we will never stop respecting each other. Yes, it was very tough, and something I could never, ever imagine in my life. But if things don't work out after you have tried your hardest, then you have to wish each other well and move on - that is what anyone should do in this situation."

Aagha and Hina parted ways before having any children, yet another fact that Aagha expressed intense gratitude for. Having been raised by a single mother after his father passed away, Aagha sombrely noted that nothing could be worse for a child than to come from a broken family.

"I am very grateful that no other lives have been affected by this," maintained Aagha, referring to the fact that no children were caught up in the mix. "That was my biggest fear. I think for a child, there is nothing more unfair in life than to live it without one parent. My father passed away when I was very young - I was almost five years old. I have lived my whole life without one parent, so I know how painful it is."

Pointing out that no child deserved to live a life without the comforting embrace of both parents, Aagha added, "How awful is it to have to live that life when [the absent parent] is still in this world? What can be worse than that? Thank God that did not happen here, and I am very grateful for that. I would just ask you to please pray for me!"

Aagha and Hina wed in May 2020, shortly after the COVID-19 pandemic began. The pair got together after working on the drama Dil e Gumshuda. News of their divorce comes after four years of marriage, but Aagha's take paints a wholesome picture of how to conduct such an emotionally charged situation with grace and acceptance.
