Police arrest three gang members, launch hunt for accomplices

Police have arrested three dacoits and recovered looted valuables worth over Rs25.8 million from their possession.

According to police sources, four men had robbed the house of Muhammad Gulzar in Muhallah Malik Muraad on July 28.They had held hostage the family members at gunpoint and looted over Rs16.7 million in cash, 117 tola of gold jewellery, mobile phones and other valuables from the house.

The police had registered a case against unidentified robbers and started investigations into the incident.

A police team arrested Muhammad Husnain, Hamid Ali and Sajid alias Choha and recovered looted valuables worth over Rs25.8 million, including Rs8.6 million in cash, 40 tola of gold and illegal weapons from their possession.

Addressing a press conference on Saturday, City Police Officer Sadiq Ali Dogar said the gang had been involved in several house robberies. The suspects looted valuables at gunpoint from houses.

The official said teams had been formed to arrest three other members of the gang, identified as Naved, Ghulam Ali and Imran alias Mota.
