Lana Del Rey is diving into country music for her upcoming album Lasso, and long-time collaborator Jack Antonoff has officially joined the project.

In a recent interview with Time, Antonoff confirmed his involvement, but remained tight-lipped on the details. "We have… yeah," he shared, adding that it’s “a story for another time.”

He emphasized that he prefers letting the music speak for itself, saying, “The reason why I don’t talk about things until they’re out is very succinct: I like to let the music be the first entry point for people."

Antonoff and Del Rey have been working together since 2019's Norman F**ing Rockwell!* and have since collaborated on two more albums: Chemtrails Over the Country Club (2021) and Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd (2023). Each of these albums achieved major success, with Tunnel peaking at No. 3 on the Billboard 200.

Del Rey first hinted at the country direction of her new album back in January during the Grammys week, stating, “If you can’t already tell, the music business is going country…That’s why Jack has followed me to Muscle Shoals, Nashville, Mississippi over the last four years.”

While fans eagerly await more details on Lasso, both Del Rey and Antonoff are clearly keeping a firm grip on this new chapter in their musical journey.
