'The Glory' star Park Ji Ah dies at 52 following battle with cerebral infarction

The actress’s funeral is set for October 2, with her coffin to be sealed at Asan Medical Center, Seoul.

Park Ji Ah, known for her role in The Glory, passed away on September 30 at the age of 52. 

After a prolonged battle with cerebral infarction, her agency, BILLIONS, confirmed her death, stating the time of her passing as 2:50 am KST. Her funeral will be held on October 2 at 10 am KST, with the mortuary arranged at Room 2 of Asan Medical Center in Seoul.

Debuting in 2002 after completing her studies at Seoul Institute of the Arts, Park Ji Ah's first major role came with the film The Coast Guard. She had earlier made guest appearances in films such as Bus Stop and Oh! LaLa Sisters. Over her two-decade career, Park took on a variety of roles in both television dramas and films. 

While she appeared in dramas like Cleaning Up, Bloody Heart, and Judge Vs Judge, she gained widespread recognition for her portrayal of the troubled mother in The Glory.

Her agency, BILLIONS, expressed sorrow, stating, "We will remember the passion of the late Park Ji Ah towards acting, who loved the craft till the very end." Park Ji Ah's final on-screen appearance was in the 2024 film Hijacking 1971. She also worked on films including The Closet, Rampant, and Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum.
