ANF arrests 8 suspects for supplying drugs to students

Cases have been registered against the arrested suspects under the Anti-Narcotics Act, and investigations have begun.

The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has arrested eight individuals involved in selling drugs at educational institutions. A nationwide crackdown against those selling drugs to students is ongoing.

According to the ANF spokesperson, operations against those selling drugs in educational institutions are ongoing. During these operations, drugs worth more than 4.2 million rupees were seized, and eight suspects were arrested.

Near a university on Raiwind Road, Lahore, 450 grams of hashish and 20 grams of ecstasy pills were recovered, and the suspect was arrested.

Near another university in Johar Town, Lahore, 130 grams of crystal meth and 40 grams of ecstasy pills were seized from a suspect.

Additionally, 120 grams of hash were recovered from a suspect near Kak Pul, Islamabad, who was involved in selling drugs to students at educational institutions.

Near M1 Toll Plaza, Islamabad, 4.8 kilograms of hash and 1.2 kilograms of opium were recovered from a vehicle, leading to the suspect's arrest.

In Hyderabad, 400 grams of hash were seized from a person near a university, and in another operation, a suspect near a hospital was found with 350 grams of hash and revealed he had been selling drugs at educational institutions.

Moreover, a motorcycle rider was arrested near Sector F-10 Market in Islamabad with over a kilogram of hash.

In other operations, 28.8 kilograms of hash and 7.2 kilograms of opium were seized during various raids near the M1 Toll Plaza, Islamabad.

In recent weeks, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) intensified its crackdown on drug sellers targeting students near educational institutions. Earlier six suspects were apprehended in five separate operations around universities in different cities.

In a high-level meeting held recently, led by Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, the decision was made to establish a Fusion Centre to enhance intelligence sharing and coordination between provinces and the centre to combat drug-related issues.
